Poem that i wrote in english on the marines
This year in English we had to write a poem when we were studying Beowulf and I wrote my poem about the Marines because im going in. Enjoy!
The Few and the Proud
When you think of the Marines
You see fatigues and M-16's.
You see men in dress blues
With Blood Stripes and shiny shoes.
Is boot camp thier friend?
They go in as boys and come out as men.
Drills and inspections for thirteen weeks,
Military jargon is what they learn to speak.
The Eagle, Globe and Anchor will always unite them,
For when trouble comes, they're the first to go in.
For America they will always fight
Until the very end of thier life.
They think they are the very best
And are the butt of every Navy and Army jest.
There's more to these Jarheads than meets the eye,
They live through thier motto "Semper Fi."
so I have now enlisted last week on thursday and was very pleased that I was able to get my weight down to where it needed to be not that i was fat it was just that i had alot of muscle and needed to loose water weight. But anyways I will be shipping out on 20070822 or in other terms aug. 22, 2007. I will be in Paris Island, South Carolina. I am very excited to go because I feel this is one of the best things I have done with my life in a long time. well thats all for my life right now just working out to get ready to go.
